1. An introduction to gas chromatograph
Gas chromatograph refers to a chromatographic analysis instrument that uses gas as the mobile phase. The principle is to use the difference in boiling point, polarity and adsorption properties of substances to realize the separation of mixtures. After the sample to be analyzed is vaporized in the vaporization chamber, it is brought into the chromatographic column by an inert gas (ie, carrier gas, also known as mobile phase), and the column contains a liquid or solid stationary phase. A partition or adsorption equilibrium is formed between the stationary phases. With the flow of the carrier gas, the sample components are repeatedly distributed or adsorbed/desorbed during the movement. The components with high concentration in the carrier gas flow out of the chromatographic column first, while the components with high concentration in the stationary phase are distributed in the stationary phase. flow out later. Commonly used detectors include electron capture detector (ECD), hydrogen flame detector (FID), flame photometric detector (FPD) and thermal conductivity detector (TCD).
